What's the fuss about? Both parties have byzantine networks like this for all manner of political activity. In fact, the democrats' process described here is somewhat amateurish when thrown up against similar republican efforts. This is all above board. Thank Citizen United for this. The fuss, should anyone care to make one, ought to be directed at the Supreme Court's decision to put a bright smiley face on Dark Money in the Citizens United decision.
